The Chinese star was in his element to power Andre Villas-Boas' side past Guangzhou Evergrande...

Wu Lei is already a club legend for Chinese Super League outfit Shanghai SIPG, having already scored 134 goals for them. Even with attacking riches like Hulk, Oscar, Elkeson etc, the Chinese star continues to be an integral part of Andre Villas-Boas' side.

The 25-year-old winger has been a regular source of goals for his side and so it proved again in the AFC Champions League quarterfinal first leg against fellow-Chinese side Guangzhou Evergrande.

It was a pressure game but it did not faze Wu Lei, who contributed two goals and won a penalty as Shanghai raced to a 4-0 win which virtually guarantees them a spot in the final four.

After winning the penalty for Hulk to open the scoring in the first half, Wu added quick-fire third and fourth goals shortly after the hour to leave Shanghai firm favourites to progress to a first AFC Champions League semi-final.

He also laid on three goalscoring chances for his teammates and was involved in all Shanghai attacks throughout the 88 minutes he played. Not only did he win three fouls for his team, he also won 57% of his duels with the opposition defenders.

It was a power-packed performance from the Chinese winger and is rightly named Goal's Asian Player of the Week.
