THE BIGGER PICTURE
Per the Daily Mail, the BBC are planning to set up a three-person team to replace Lineker. Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish's daughter Kelly Cates is all set to quit Sky Sports to be part of the team. Cates will be joined by current BBC broadcasters Mark Chapman and Gabby Logan. The presenting duties for Match of the Day 1 and Match of the Day 2 will be divided among the trio.

While Lineker will no longer be associated with the Match of the Day programme once the 2024-25 season ends, he is supposed to lead the BBC's coverage of the FA Cup the following season and the 2026 World Cup.
