PSG avoid Khvicha Kvaratskhelia blow as winger avoids serious injury ahead of Champions League opener with Ousmane Dembele and Desire Doue already ruled out

In PSG's 2-0 win against against Lens in Ligue 1 on Sunday, Kvaratskhelia was substituted in the 30th minute after experiencing discomfort in his left calf following a tackle by Odsonne Edouard. The early exit raised concerns about the winger's availability for the upcoming Champions League fixture.

The match also saw other players dealing with injuries or coming off recent setbacks. Kang-in Lee was replaced by Senny Mayulu in the 57th minute due to injury concerns, while Lucas Beraldo, who had been recovering from a previous issue, was substituted for Nuno Mendes in the 71st minute. These incidents highlighted the physical strain on PSG's squad as they navigate a hectic schedule.

Following the match, PSG's medical team conducted tests on Kvaratskhelia's calf. The results were reassuring, indicating no significant injury. In a post-match press conference, coach Enrique provided context on the injuries in the squad.

"Kvara hurt himself at the beginning. Kang-in Lee, it doesn't seem very serious. The most serious, I think, is Beraldo," he said.

The Parisian club are hopeful that the Georgian winger will be able to return for their upcoming Champions League fixture.

Despite the positive news regarding Kvaratskhelia, PSG continues to face injury challenges. Head coach Enrique also had surgery after a cycling accident, however, he said it doesn't limit his involvement. On the contrary, the manager was happy being in the stands and claimed it gave him a better understanding of the game and stated from the stands you could exactly tell who has played well on the pitch.
