'Goals come after' - Cristiano Ronaldo reveals his 'first and last objective' at Al-Nassr & 'what keeps his passion high'

Ronaldo scored goals number 912 and 913 of his incredible career on Monday as Al-Nassr all but secured their place in the knockout phase of the AFC Champions League with a 3-1 win over Al-Gharafa. The Portuguese superstar now has 11 in 14 appearances for the Saudi Pro League side in all appearances this season as he continues to find the back of the net on a regular basis despite heading towards his 40th birthday in February.

Ronaldo is famously yet to win a major trophy since joining Al-Nassr following his exit from Manchester United at the end of 2022. The veteran forward does still continue to plunder goals but insisted after his latest match that winning and entertaining his many fans is more important to him than scoring.

He told reporters: "The presence of the public and their joy is what keeps my passion high, especially the children. We have a lot of fans of all ages supporting us, I am very happy to score and make them happy. Goals are good, of course, but the most important thing is to win. For me, the most important thing is Al Nassr's victory. Al Gharafa are a good team and the reason for our victory was the organization of our team. My first and last objective is to win. Goals come after teamwork and my focus is always on scoring and winning. If the team wins, I'm happy and I dedicate the victory to the fans, the club and Ronaldo's fans. We created chances in the first half, but we couldn't score. In the second half, the team made some adjustments and the goals came."

Ronaldo has previously set himself the ambitious target of reaching 1,000 career goals and the landmark is certainly creeping closer. The 39-year-old will be hoping to add to his tally when Al-Nassr return to Saudi Pro League action on Friday against Damac.
