  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Real Madrid were handed their fourth El Clasico loss of the season on Sunday afternoon at Estadi Olimpic as Barcelona came back from a two-goal deficit to beat Los Blancos 4-3 with a brace from Raphinha and one goal each for Eric Garcia and Lamine Yamal. After taking an early 2-0 lead, the 15-time European champions' midfield of Bellingham, Arda Guler, Fede Valverde and Dani Ceballos seemed to dissipate in thin air, which allowed the Catalans to score four goals in the next 26 minutes.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In their ratings piece, Spanish publication Marca have blamed Bellingham for being 'out of control'. With a rating of four out of ten, they labelled him a 'key player' in Real Madrid's midfield collapse and wrote: "Gone. A key player in Madrid's midfield collapse. He was completely out of control and unable to participate in possession. He focused on details. Too little for a player of his level and influence on the team. Almost everything he received was long balls with no advantage to exploit his passing."

Spanish publication AS also said that Bellingham was 'unrecognisable' and he 'gave the impression that he'd given up physically and mentally.'

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Bellingham was totally unrecognisable through the clash at Estadi Olimpic, as the England international only managed to complete 24 passes. He also only managed to attempt just one dribble and lost possession 14 times in the clash.

    WHAT NEXT FOR BELLINGHAM?

Real Madrid's regular season is now set to end without a trophy this season as Barcelona hold a seven-point lead over the Los Blancos. However, they will have a chance to win a trophy when they compete in the Club World Cup in June.
