Administrative dysfunction has also been cited as a contributing factor to the team's inconsistency.

Adding another layer of uncertainty, Saudi sports journalist Saud Al Sarami has suggested Cristiano Ronaldo could leave in the January transfer window, describing the Portuguese captain as a "burned card" who can no longer influence club decisions.
