AC Milan recently met with midfielder Giacomo Bonaventura's agent Mino Raiola over a new contract, reports Calciomercato

Bonaventura's current contract expires at the end of next season, but Milan are keen to extend the 29-year-old's deal beyond that. 

Bonaventura has not played since November after he suffered a serious knee injury. 

Kreis named USA U-23 head coach


Former Real Salt LakeNew York City FC and Orlando City head coach Jason Kreis has been named the new U.S. Under-23 national team coach.

Kreis was sacked by Orlando City midway through 2018, but now has another shot to manage as the U.S. eyes a spot at the 2020 Olympics. 

The U.S. named its first U-23 roster of Kreis' tenure on Tuesday, with Timothy Weah and Josh Sargent two of the more notable names.

Giroud salary could be too high for Marseille & Lyon


Olivier Giroud's salary demands could make the Chelsea man too expensive for Marseille or Lyon, Le10Sport claims. 

The 32-year-old's contract with the Blues expires at the end of the season, and the striker could be eyeing a move back to his homeland. 

But Giroud currently nets €3.5 million per year in England, which would make him too pricey for either of the two interested Ligue 1 sides. 

West Ham & Newcastle eye Mainz wonderkid


West Ham and Newcastle United are keeping an eye on Mainz attacking midfielder Erkan Eyibil, according to Turkish-Football. 

The 17-year-old has been compared to Mesut Ozil for his left-footed playmaking, and has starred at youth level for Mainz and Germany

Eyibil is being tipped for a call to the Mainz senior team soon, and has just one year remaining on his current deal with the Bundesliga side. 

Rabiot's mother claims PSG are holding her son hostage


Adrien Rabiot's mother and agent, Veronique Rabiot, has hit out at Paris Saint-Germain's treatment of her son, comparing him to a prisoner. 

The midfielder is currently in exile from the PSG first team after he refused to discuss a new deal with the club. 

Rabiot now must wait for his contract to expire in the summer before he finds a new team, but his mother is not happy with how his final months in Paris are playing out.

D.C. United sign teenage forward Yow


D.C. United have signed 16-year-old forward Griffin Yow to a homegrown contract, the club announced on Tuesday. 

"Griffin is a promising young prospect who has grown tremendously in the past 18 months in our academy,” D.C. United general manager Dave Kasper said in a club release.

“He has been a top performer for our U-17 academy team, and has represented the U.S. youth national teams at various levels and we're looking forward to utilizing our new USL Championship club, Loudoun United FC, to begin his development as a professional soccer player." 

Juventus eye Haller


Juventus are interested in Eintracht Frankfurt striker Sebastien Haller, according to TMW.

The French frontman has not been called up for national team duty despite his impressive numbers this season, notching 19 goals and 12 assists in 37 appearances across all competitions, and may feel that a move to an elite club would help his chances.

However, Frankfurt have reportedly slapped a €40m (£34m/$45m) price tag on the striker in an attempt to ward off interest, with suitors also circling over their other striker, Luka Jovic.


Spurs weighing up Perisic move


Tottenham are weighing up the possibility of signing Ivan Perisic from Inter, according to FcInterNews.

However, there are those in the Spurs hierarchy that are put off by the reported €35m (£30m/$40m) price tag that has been slapped on the 30-year-old winger.

Perisic has managed five goals and seven assists in 35 appearances across all competitions this season. 

Alves signs PSG extension


Dani Alves has agreed a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, according to ESPN.

The 35-year-old right-back was hoping for a two-year deal but has had to settle for just one.

The Brazilian's deal was set to expire at the end of this season, but Alves will now remain in Paris until at least the end of the next campaign.


Alderweireld refuses to confirm Spurs future


Tottenham centre-back Toby Alderweireld has said he does not know if he will be at the club next season, according to Sky Sports.

Spurs recently triggered a one-year contract extension in the 30-year-old's deal - which was set to expire at the end of this campaign - but the new terms include a £25 million ($33m) release clause that can only be activated in the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Belgian was evasive when asked what his plans were for the 2019-20 season, saying, "I don't look further than this season".

Benfica turn down Liverpool approach for Ferreira


Benfica have knocked back Liverpool's latest approach for centre-back Reis Ferreira, according to the Mirror.

The Reds had shown interest in the summer of 2017, but their offer of a loan with an option to buy was refused, and now a second offer has been rejected.

The 21-year-old centre-half - nicknamed 'Ferro' - has recently signed a new deal keeping him at the club until 2023, and has made five senior appearances this season, scoring twice.

Pato to join Sao Paulo for reduced rate


Alexandre Pato is prepared to take a pay cut to return to Sao Paulo FC, reports ESPN Brazil. 
The 29-year-old striker recently cancelled his contract with Tianjin Tianhai after spending two seasons in China
Pato is eager to return to his home country and to the club where he played between 2014 and 2016, and is reportedly ready to accept a reduced salary to do so. 

Pastore too expensive for River


River Plate have deemed out-of-favour Roma midfielder Javier Pastore to be too expensive, according to TNT Sports.

River are looking for a replacement for Juan Quintero, who will be sidelined up to nine months with a knee ligament injury. 

Pastore, who is struggling for game time at Roma, has been mentioned as a possible replacement, but River have ruled the Argentine out due to his large contract.

England U-17 World Cup winner moving to Charlotte


Man City goalkeeper Curtis Anderson is set to join United Soccer League side Charlotte Independence, ESPN FC reports. 

Anderson, 18, was the starting goalkeeper as England lifted the 2017 U-17 World Cup, and has also played for his country at U-16, U-18 and U-19 levels. 

Anderson will join Charlotte on a permanent deal, with the club currently playing in the USL Championship, the second tier of the American soccer pyramid.

Man Utd could trigger 12-month Rashford extension


The club are growing impatient with talks over a long-term deal

Manchester United are set to trigger a 12-month extension for Marcus Rashford, with talks over a new deal yet to bear fruit. 

Rashford's current contract expires at the end of next season, and the club have been locked in talks over a five-year extension for more than a month.

But with progress slow, United could opt to extend the 21-year-old's current deal one more season instead of agreeing a long-term deal.

Schreuder to succeed Nagelsmann as Hoffenheim coach


Hoffenheim have announced that Alfred Schreuder will take over as head coach from the start of next season.

Schreuder is currently an assistant at Ajax, and was an assistant at Hoffenheim from October 2015 until January last year.

"I'm aware of the great challenge, but that's exactly what I find particularly appealing," Schreuder told Hoffenheim's website.
