VIDEO: Alisha Lehmann chooses between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in GOAT debate

  • Lehmann now playing her club football in Italy

Lehmann spent several years plying her trade in England when turning out for the likes of West Ham and Aston Villa in the WSL. She embraced a new challenge when linking up with Juventus in 2024. Her debut campaign in Turin delivered Serie A title glory.

She was, however, not a guaranteed starter for Juve and jumped at the chance to join an exciting project being pieced together in Como after receiving an approach in the summer of 2025. A productive start to life in new surroundings has been enjoyed.

  • Lehmann salutes Putellas & answers fashion question

With a smile on her face, Lehmann has taken part in an ‘either or’ quiz from Italian news outlet Gazzetta dello Sport. She told them that her dream would be to “score a goal in the World Cup final, no doubt”. She also claimed to be a fan of football boots and kits “in the day” while preferring to don dresses and heels “at night”.

Lehmann also said when asked to choose between Serie A and top-flight action in England: “To watch, I think Premier League.” That could be considered a surprising choice given that she is now in Italy, with the likes of USMNT star Christian Pulisic trying to capture the imagination of a global audience in Serie A.

When asked to pick between two Golden Ball winners in Putellas and her Barcelona team-mate Aitana Bonmati - who collected her third Ballon d’Or in 2025 - Lehmann said: “Alexia Putellas. I’m a fan of her, I think she’s amazing.”

On the big question, one that has divided fans around the world for two decades, Lehmann opted to side with Portuguese superstar Ronaldo in his career-long battle with eternal rival Messi. Both men are still going strong at Saudi Pro League side Al-Nassr and MLS outfit Inter Miami respectively.

Why Lehmann finds herself on the books of Como Women

Lehmann has previously told The Guardian of why she now finds herself in Como: “It’s an independent club, fully focused on women’s football – and that really matters to me. From the start, I could see this wasn’t just another team; it’s a project with real purpose and vision. [So] signing with FC Como Women just felt right.

“We’re in a moment where women’s football can define itself on its own terms, and independent clubs like Como Women have the opportunity in leading the movement. [It] isn’t just about winning matches. It’s about building something that lasts. This is the first time I’ve joined an independent club. That was a big part of my decision. It shows there is a different way of doing things.”

Lehmann has already been among the goals for Como Women, who stunned her former employers at Juventus in their latest outing when collecting an impressive 1-0 victory over the reigning champions.
