Darragh MacAnthony – chairman of rivals Peterborough United – has revealed how much Wrexham splashed out, telling talkSPORT of business in the third tier: “Peterborough are the second biggest spenders in League One this summer, I think we spent over £2.1m on transfer fees, and I think obviously Birmingham spent millions more. But after that, I was speaking to the Wrexham CEO [Michael Williamson] on Saturday, I think he said they spent about £1.4m, so I think they are third. But after that we look at the mass majority of deals, it’s free signings, it’s loan deals. Yes, there’s been a bit of business in the Championship, but League One, League Two, there hasn’t been a massive outlay in transfer fees.”
