Real Madrid legends Marcelo and Iker Casillas make Champions League prediction after Kylian Mbappe joins from PSG

Just days after the club's record-extending 15th European Cup, the pair of former Madrid stars seemingly have little doubt that Mbappe will be getting his hands on the 16th in a year's time.

More than any other club, the Champions League is what drives Real Madrid. But Mbappe has never won it in his career to date, only coming close when Paris Saint-Germain reached the final in 2020 and getting to the semis while a teenager with Monaco.

"Welcome to the best club in the world!" Casillas posted on X, directly tagging Mbappe. "It is never late if happiness is good. With you the path to the 16th begins..." Meanwhile, Marcelo posted on Instagram: "16 is coming."

It will be some time before fans get to see Mbappe out on the pitch in the iconic Madrid kit. The expectation is that he will be in action with France in the latter stages of Euro 2024 until mid-July, after which a rest is vital. From a marketing point of view, Madrid officials would love to get him onto the club's pre-season tour of the United States, with games to be played there between July 31 and August 6.
