PSG boss Luis Enrique shows off new look after surgery following bike accident

The 55-year-old cut a resilient figure in his pre-game press conference with a shaved head and his arm in a sling. He arrived with PSG's sporting director Luis Campos and president Nasser Al-Khelaifi.

Despite fears the serious injury and subsequent surgery could have sidelined Luis Enrique for three games, he will be present for Sunday's fixture. Despite his ongoing rehabilitation, he insisted he is ready to lead his team against Lens and beyond. 

Luis Enrique said: "I’m doing very well. I’m happy to return home. After an international break, these matches are always tricky. We are ready and focused solely on the game against Lens.

"I trained today, and I’ll be ready for the match tomorrow against Lens. Whenever something negative happens in my life, I try to find the positive side of it." 

Les Parisiens are of course favourites to win the French title again, but they face pressure from a Lyon side that has yet to concede a goal. A victory over Lens, as well as a strong startin the Champions League against Atalanta, as well as a marquee matchup against Marseille on September 21 represents a tricky period in this young season. Having their treble-winning manager on the sideline will be crucial for the players and fans.
