PSG went on to win Champions League without superstar
PSG won the Champions League for the first time in 2024-25 despite losing Mbappe before the start of the campaign on a free transfer to Real Madrid. Mbappe was expected to take La Liga by storm following his transfer but ended the campaign without a major trophy and then had to watch his former side crowned European champions.
Al-Khelaifi told C à Vous: "I don’t have any regrets [about Mbappé leaving]. I thank Kylian and [Lionel] Messi, Neymar, Zlatan [Ibrahimovic]. They have all been very important for the club. We were lucky this year, without Kylian, but I wish him all the best for the future at Real Madrid, so long as he’s not playing against us."
