Man Utd close in on Senegal wonderkid after impressive trial as Ruben Amorim's side aim to beat Barcelona to exciting teenager

  • Old Trafford swoop in the works

Dabo has spent several weeks training with United’s youth teams, catching the eyes of coaches with his blend of skill and maturity far beyond his years. Feedback from staff has been overwhelmingly positive, with sources describing Dabo as a player brimming with “raw talent and intelligence on the pitch.”

    Competition from Barcelona

While United appear to be leading the chase, Barcelona remain interested in Dabo. The Catalan giants have been closely monitoring him since he completed a month-long stint at La Masia, their famed youth academy. Despite Barca’s continued interest, sources suggest Manchester United have taken the advantage, with discussions over a potential transfer now underway. The president of Dabo’s current club, Bsport Académie, is said to be in England finalising the deal, signalling that a move could be imminent.

  • Second African signing in two years

If the transfer is completed, Dabo will become United’s second midfield recruit from Africa in just two years, following the arrival of Malian talent Sekou Kone in the summer of 2024. The club is clearly investing in young African talent, hoping to nurture the next generation of stars within their academy system. Dabo, who has yet to make his senior debut, appeared 14 times for Bsport’s Under-21s last season, scoring twice, and has shown glimpses of the kind of player United hope he can become.

    Future-proofing the squad

With interest from both United and Barcelona, the teenage sensation now finds himself at a pivotal point in his budding career. Should the move to Old Trafford be confirmed, Dabo will join a club renowned for producing world-class midfield talent, and he will have the chance to continue his rapid rise on one of football’s biggest stages.
