Since trading Munich for North London on a summer loan, Palhinha has been nothing short of a revelation for Thomas Frank’s side. Slotting straight into midfield, the combative star has added bite, stability, and grit to Spurs’ engine room.

According to BILD,Tottenham had the foresight to include a purchase clause in his deal, and it may now prove a bargain. That option to buy is set at £27 million, a price Spurs are increasingly tempted to pay. 

Originally, the expectation was for Spurs to bide their time and decide at season’s end. But TBR Football claims that the North London club could move as early as January and are preparing to enter talks with Bayern in the winter window, keen to lock down Palhinha before rivals circle.

From being frozen out in Munich to becoming a vital cog in Tottenham’s machine, Palhinha’s proven his worth in spades. And with Bayern desperately wanting Spurs to take him permanently, the path is wide open for a deal that suits all parties.
