Amanda Staveley 'identifies top replacement for Ange Postecoglou' if former Newcastle director completes Tottenham investment

Tottenham Hotspur have caught Amanda Staveley’s attention as she and her team seek to reinvest the £500 million gained from selling their shares in Newcastle United in July. Staveley, who played a pivotal role in the Saudi Arabian Public Investment Fund's acquisition of Newcastle, stepped away from the Magpies this summer. She is now reportedly eyeing a potential co-ownership at Tottenham, marking her next major venture in football.

Tottenham have had a disappointing start to the season under Ange Postecoglou, managing only three victories in their first seven Premier League games. The Sun reports that should Staveley succeed in acquiring a stake at the club, she may look to bring in Newcastle United's Eddie Howe as a potential replacement, impressed by the stellar job he’s done at St. James' Park.

If Tottenham do plan to make a move for Howe, they are highly likely to face a bunch of competition for his signature. The England national team have also shown a lot of interest in the 46-year-old as they look to find their Gareth Southgate successor.

Staveley's potential stake purchase is still some ways away as per reports and it is highly likely that despite her interest in bringing in Howe, Staveley may be stuck with Postecoglou at least until the end of the season.
