📝 Bio: I'm a football news writer with over five years of experience and joined GOAL in 2023 after having worked with The Sporting News, Barca Universal, MTAG and The Nutmeg Assist. I decided to switch my career path after having completed my Bachelor's in Sports Management, and have now been looking forward to progressing as a sports journalist.

My Football Story: Having grown up with a number of sports influencing my childhood, I've become obsessed with every single detail of every single sport. That said, I started to gravitate towards football after watching Barcelona play in 2006, and I have been through the highs and the lows - the Koeman era, getting used to a Barca without Messi and, of course, THAT night at Anfield. I spend most of my time staying across La Liga and the Segunda Division, as well as tinkering with my FPL team, that I never seem to get right.

🎯 Areas of Expertise:

  • Expert football opinion & analysis
  • La Liga & Segunda Division football insight
  • Expert understanding of the La Masia set-up

🌟 Favourite Footballing Memory: As a football fan who has resided in India, going to Europe and watching a lot of matches was always going to be a struggle. However, my favourite stadium experience will always be seeing Barcelona's La Liga opener in the 2022-23 season, the start of the first full campaign for Xavi. The match came on the back of what was a pivotal summer transfer window, that saw the arrivals of Lewandowski, Kounde, Christensen and Raphinha.

  1. Guardiola makes bold transfer call on Lewis

Pep Guardiola has revealed that Rico Lewis has already told him he will stay at Manchester City, despite strong interest from Nottingham Forest. Nuno Espirito Santo's side are reportedly ready to double the 20-year-old’s wages in a bid to lure him away, but the Citizens remain determined to keep hold of one of their most exciting academy products.

  2. Di Maria insists Messi 'has to play at 2026 World Cup'

Lionel Messi’s future at the 2026 World Cup has been the subject of heated debate, but Angel Di Maria has put the discussion to rest. 3. Gyokeres posts damning statistic on Arsenal Premier League debut

Arsenal striker Viktor Gyokeres endured a frustrating Premier League debut at Old Trafford as the £64 million ($87m) summer signing failed to register a single shot during his side’s 1-0 win over Manchester United. The Swedish forward saw his 69-match streak of attempting at least one effort in league games come to an end during a dull outing in front of goal despite Arsenal sealing all three points.

  4. Neville urges Man Utd to target 'big personalities' for No.1 spot

Gary Neville has called on Manchester United to act quickly in the transfer market and sign a new goalkeeper, warning that the lack of a commanding No.1 is "undermining" Ruben Amorim’s early attempts to rebuild the team. With Andre Onana sidelined and Altay Bayindir producing another costly error in the defeat to Arsenal, Neville insists United need a strong personality in goal to steady the squad.

  5. Guardiola demands Man City players leave the club

Pep Guardiola has admitted Manchester City’s squad size is 'not healthy' after opening the Premier League season with a 4-0 victory against Wolves. Erling Haaland netted twice, while new signings Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki also scored, but Guardiola’s biggest concern was the number of players in his squad. With Ederson and Savinho linked with exits, he urged the club to trim numbers.

  1. 'Don't care about Viktor!' - Amorim not worried about Gyokeres

Ruben Amorim will come face-to-face with his former player Viktor Gyokeres when Manchester United host Arsenal on the opening weekend of the Premier League season. The pair lifted two league titles together at Sporting CP, but while the Sweden international has since moved to the Gunners in a £63.5 million deal, Amorim insists United are focused on the team and not just one player.

  2. Chelsea reject 'insulting' bid for unwanted midfielder

Chelsea have wasted no time in turning down Borussia Dortmund’s latest offer for Carney Chukwuemeka, with the proposal labelled ‘insulting’ by the club. The Blues are prioritising player sales to make room for top targets Xavi Simons and Alejandro Garnacho, and have fielded interest from several other clubs for the unwanted 20-year-old midfielder.

  3. Liverpool and Bournemouth fans pay tribute to Jota

Anfield came together in an emotional show of unity as Liverpool and Bournemouth fans paid a powerful tribute to the late Diogo Jota during the Premier League season opener. In the 20th minute, the stadium erupted into applause, with scarves and shirts held aloft, while a deafening rendition of 'You’ll Never Walk Alone' echoed in memory of the Portuguese forward and his brother, Andre Silva.

  4. Supercomputer predicts 2025-26 Premier League table

A supercomputer has produced its forecast for the 2025/26 Premier League season — and it makes for grim reading if you’re a Manchester United or Tottenham fan. The data model predicts that the Red Devils will slump to 12th and Spurs will fall to 14th. Crystal Palace, meanwhile, are backed for a shock seventh-place finish that would bring European football to Selhurst Park.
