  • WHAT HAPPENED?

    At the end of Wrexham's EFL Cup tie with the Blades, after Sebastian Revan scored an injury-time consolation to make it 4-2, the Welsh club's players attempted to get the ball out of the back of the net. Sydie Peck, of Sheffield United, refused to allow Jack Marriott to do so, and they clashed, before both sets of players began to brawl. The FA has now confirmed that both clubs have been charged with a failure to control their players.

    Wrexham's hopes of a cup run have been extinguished at the first hurdle. They will have another chance in the FA Cup once they enter the world's oldest cup competition. In the aftermath of their defeat to the Championship side, Phil Parkinson's side drew 0-0 with Bolton Wanderers in League One.
