Will Wayne & Coleen 'pull the plug'? Rooney 'horror show' threatens lucrative documentary deal as Man Utd legend struggles during 20-game reign at Plymouth

The Manchester United legend’s wife, Coleen, may also decide that a fly-on-the-wall series is not the right decision at this stage – with Wayne struggling to generate positive results during his latest stint as a Football League manager.

Ex-England captain Rooney has spent just 20 games in charge of Plymouth, but he has won only five of those – suffering 10 defeats – and questions are already being asked of his future at Home Park. There has been sack talk in Devon, although club bosses have endeavoured to quieten those rumours.

Rooney was supposed to see his return to coaching caught on camera, with Lorton Entertainment – who produced The Real Wagatha Story about Coleen’s legal battle with fellow WAG Rebekah Vardy – on board as a major streaming partner was sought.

A source has now told The Sun, with there a chance that Rooney’s series will never air: "The whole point of the documentary was to celebrate his move from player to becoming a manager. But obviously if that ends up being more of a horror show then the creators, or the Rooneys themselves, may pull the plug on the project."

The Rooneys have agreed a lucrative deal, but they are reluctant to green light anything that could cast them in a bad light. Coleen is currently in the Australian jungle competing on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, while Wayne will lead Plymouth back into Championship action against Oxford on Saturday.
