According to the Daily Mail,Guessand has attracted considerable interest from the east London outfit following a standout campaign that helped Nice secure a fourth-place finish in Ligue 1 behind only PSG, Marseille, and Monaco. He is valued in the region of £20–25 million and remains under contract with the French side for another three years.

Having arrived midway through last season, head coach Graham Potter is aiming to reshape a West Ham squad that stumbled to a disappointing 43-point finish in the Premier League. However, significant transfer activity will depend on the club first generating funds through player sales. One major name who could be moved on to balance the books is Kudus, who has already received significant interest from Tottenham. The Ghanaian forward has enjoyed flashes of brilliance in east London but may now be sacrificed to fund moves for new attacking targets. Niclas Fullkrug is another striker West Ham are open to selling, as Potter looks to freshen up his attacking options.

The Hammers face stiff competition from Wolves, who are also tracking Guessand. However, they are operating from a much stronger financial position. The West Midlands club have received a massive windfall of £62.5m from the sale of Brazilian forward Matheus Cunha to Manchester United. A portion of those funds has already been committed, with Wolves agreeing to make Jorgen Strand Larsen’s loan from Celta Vigo a permanent £23m transfer. Even after that outlay, Wolves remain in a healthy position to compete for Guessand and are ready to table an offer soon.

With Michail Antonio nearing the end of his contract and recovering from a car accident that sidelined him during international duty with Jamaica, a reshuffle in the final third is high on the agenda. West Ham had previously explored a move for Guessand during the winter transfer window. However, at the time, Nice were unwilling to entertain offers as they were locked in a tense race for Champions League qualification. That reluctance has since eased, with Nice now willing to consider proposals in the current window.
