    WHAT HAPPENED?

    The popular show, which lifts the lid on life in North Wales on and off the pitch, recently enjoyed considerable success at the Emmy Awards as it collected a number of accolades. With awards season still very much in full swing, more honours have been bestowed upon the FX production.

    The Producers Guild of America Awards took place on February 25 at Ovation Hollywood in Los Angeles. ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ was nominated in the Outstanding Producer of Non-Fiction Television category, and ended up walking away with the top prize.

    McElhenney has delighted in receiving more recognition for both the show and Wrexham as a whole, posting on social media: “What an honor it continues to be to celebrate the people of Wrexham and tell this story. UP THE TOWN!!!”
