The countdown is on to the NFL’s flagship event, which will take place at Caesars Superdome in New Orleans on February 9. The Kansas City Chiefs, with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce leading the way, remain in the hunt to defend their title.

The stars will be out when Super Bowl hits Louisiana, on and off the pitch, with major brands already lining up advertisements for a sporting spectacle that pulls in a global television audience of over 100 million viewers.

Ex-England captain Beckham, who is now working with Lionel Messi in MLS, will form part of the Super Bowl LIX show. The 49-year-old has teamed up with Stella Artois to star in an ad that sees him searching for a supposed “twin” that he knows nothing about.

In the advert, Beckham’s mother and father say: “We have something to tell you. You have a twin brother we never told you about. Left him in America.” Becks responds with: “I always knew there was something missing.” After his dad says “that was other David”, Beckham asks: “Where is he?”

Fans will have to wait to discover what the final twist in the tale is. In his day job, Beckham will be hoping to see Messi and Co pick up another morale-boosting victory when facing Universitario in their latest pre-season friendly on January 29.
