Argentine icon back in MLS action
On target against Colorado Rapids
Fans desperate to get near him
WHAT HAPPENED?
The Argentine superstar was back in the Herons' matchday squad against the Colorado Rapids. He had sat out four games with a hamstring injury, but was able to return to the bench for MLS action at Chase Stadium. Messi was introduced for the second half and found the target in a 2-2 draw.
The final whistle rarely brings an end to the action for Messi, as he usually has to contend with rivals desperate to swap shirts. Occasionally he also finds himself face-to-face with adoring fans that are happy to break the law by entering the field of play.

DID YOU KNOW?
That was the case against Colorado, as a young supporter jumped the advertising hoardings and sprinted after the all-time great. She did so with phone in hand, allowing a mad dash away from security staff to be caught on camera.
WHAT NEXT FOR MESSI?
Messi looked slightly bemused by the whole situation after seeing a stranger spring up by his side, but he did talk stewards out of taking action against the pitch invader in question. He is expected to be back in Inter Miami’s starting XI on Wednesday when they take in the second leg of a CONCACAF Champions Cup clash with Mexican side Monterrey.
