    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In response to the worsening conditions, according to The Athletic, Valencia have requested the postponement of Saturday's league fixture against Real Madrid at their home ground, the Mestalla. Moreover, Valencia were set to play an away match on Wednesday against a sixth-tier team in Parla, a town situated approximately 15 miles from Madrid. Due to the adverse weather conditions and widespread damage, the game has been rescheduled for November 6, providing additional time for local authorities to restore safety in the area.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

The Spanish government has issued red-level warnings for regions across southern Spain, including Valencia, indicating “extreme danger” due to the ongoing torrential rains and flash flooding risks. Valencia’s request to delay the upcoming Real Madrid match also comes at a difficult time for the club on the field. Currently sitting at the bottom of La Liga, the team has won just one out of their first eleven matches this season. Their poor performances have intensified scrutiny on head coach Ruben Baraja, who now faces mounting pressure to steer the team out of its current slump.
