Bayern eyeing move for Alonso
Tuchel under fire after three straight losses
Alonso on Liverpool's shortlist to replace Klopp
WHAT HAPPENED?
Thomas Tuchel is under fire after seeing his side suffer three successive losses - including a shock defeat at the hands of Bochum on Sunday. With Bayern Munich currently trailing league leaders Bayer Leverkusen by eight points, officials at the Allianz Arena might consider parting ways with the German manager.
The Athletic reports that if the reigning Bundesliga champions decided to show the door to Tuchel, they would consider making a move for Alonso.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
Alonso has performed exceptionally since taking charge of Die Werkself in October 2022. From initially struggling in the relegation zone, the Bundesliga side eventually finished sixth at the end of the 2022-23 season. In the ongoing campaign, the Spaniard has managed to keep his team unbeaten in the German top flight and is on course to lead them to a historic league title.
Alonso's contract runs until 2026, while Tuchel will only have a year left on his existing deal once the current campaign comes to a close. While the former Spain international remains a man in demand, it is unlikely that his club would let him leave midway through a promising season.
