Defender moved to Camp Nou in 2020
Spent time on loan at AC Milan & PSV
Big decision on future is approaching
WHAT HAPPENED?
The United States international defender completed a dream transfer to Catalunya in 2020. He struggled to make the desired impact with La Liga giants and was loaned out to AC Milan for the 2022-23 campaign – where he also found regular game time hard to come by.
Barcelona have been keeping a close eye on his progress in the Eredivisie, while also noting his versatility, and SPORT claims that a permanent move to Eindhoven is no longer guaranteed. With Xavi - who deemed Dest to be surplus to requirements - preparing to move on in the summer, the hard-working full-back may be given another chance to prove his worth.

Dest will likely be freed to make the final call on his future, with the promising defender needing to feel settled and valued wherever he ends up.
