Sir Jim Ratcliffe's cuts hit Europa League final! Man Utd refuse to offer free tickets to club staff despite Tottenham's pledge to own workforce

Per the Daily Mail, United have refused to offer free match tickets to their club staff for the Europa League final in Bilbao. Both the Red Devils and Tottenham have been allocated 15,000 match tickets each, but United have decided to sell all the allotted tickets to their fans. Instead of providing match tickets, United are planning to hold a screening of the game for the staff, with an invitation open to plus-ones. However, the club will offer only two free drinks to the designated person, while their guests will have to pay.

The report adds that in contrast to United's stance, Spurs will provide one free ticket to all of their 700 employees, although it remains to be seen how many of the staff members will take up the opportunity, considering the almighty costs of travelling to and staying in Bilbao.

The Red Devils have reportedly maintained that their first priority remains the club fans, and they want to make as many tickets available to the stadium goers as possible over the staff. The latest measures are being deemed as part of United minority owner Ratcliffe's ongoing cost-cutting drive, which has already seen 450 staff lose their jobs.

Before the all-important Europa final in Spain, Ruben Amorim's side will play two Premier League matches against West Ham and Chelsea on May 11 and May 16, respectively.
