Shock reason for Pep Guardiola’s split from wife Cristina Serra revealed as Man City boss tries to ‘reconcile’ with long-time partner

It was announced in January that former Barcelona and Bayern Munich Guardiola would be separating from his partner of over 30 years. Neither party has, however, removed their respective wedding rings in the wake of that decision.

It is now being claimed that Guardiola and Serra are prepared to give their relationship a “second chance”. According to EN Blau VIP, every effort is being made to rebuild bridges that were in danger of collapse.

Guardiola is said to have committed to spending more time at his family home in Catalunya, as he takes advantage of a private jet at his disposal, with long breaks without seeing one another set to be avoided.

Serra is seemingly prepared to forgive Guardiola for committing to a new contract in England that he kept secret from her. The expectation was that the 54-year-old would agree to 12-month sabbatical or take on an international role - giving him more free time.

Maria Lapiedra has told EN Blau VIP: “Pep Guardiola and Cristina Serra still wear their wedding rings. They're trying to reconcile. He came to her house for three days this Easter and stayed the night there.

“He's saying he could be in Manchester and come see her on a private plane in Barcelona once a week, then leave again. She wanted to separate because he secretly renewed his contract, without speaking to Cristina, but Pep wants to stay with her.”

Guardiola, who has been with City since 2016, has signed fresh terms with the Blues that have two years left to run. Compromises are seemingly being reached that will allow the Premier League and Champions League winner to commit fully to both professional and personal endeavours.
