WHAT HAPPENED?
The veteran Spanish defender – who has 180 international caps to his name - is approaching the end of his contract at Sevilla, having returned to his roots in the summer of 2023. He is now 38 years of age, but the World Cup winner is offering no indication that retirement is on the cards.

THE BIGGER PICTURE
With that in mind, Mundo Deportivo reports that Ramos is once again registering on the recruitment radars of teams in the United States and Middle East. He was linked with sides in both regions when severing ties with Paris Saint-Germain last year.
Ramos must now decide whether he wants to head for MLS or the Saudi Pro League, with ambitious outfits in Japan and Turkey also said to be mulling over approaches for a man that has shaken off injury struggles to take in 29 appearances this season.
