    WHAT TEBAS SAID

In conversation with transfer guru Fabrizio Romano, Tebas backed Los Blancos in the transfer market while also taking a shot at Barca's financial mismanagement: "Alphonso Davies and more? I don’t know the costs of Mbappe deal but in any case, Real have an excellent financial situation. They [Barcelona] never did crazy things in the recent years."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Tebas' comments about financial management seem to be a shot at Barca, who have found themselves in trouble for repeated violations of La Liga's strict transfer regulations. Blaugrana president Joan Laporta has consistently warred with Tebas in the press in recent months.

    WHAT NEXT FOR REAL MADRID

Los Blancos appear close to signing Mbappe, as the winger is yet to sign a new contract at PSG. Multiple outlets have reported that a deal is likely to happen to bring him to the Santiago Bernabeu. On the pitch, meanwhile, Los Blancos face Girona at the Santiago Bernabeu on Saturday in a potential La Liga title decider.
