'F*cking sh*t show' - Newcastle fans go into meltdown after Alexander Isak transfer request amid Liverpool and Al-Hilal interest

The Magpies have been aware for some time that admiring glances are being cast in the direction of their prolific Sweden international striker. They have seen Isak register 62 goals through 109 appearances for the Premier League heavyweights.

Arsenal were considered to be Isak’s biggest suitors at one stage, while Liverpool reportedly mulled over an audacious approach for the 25-year-old before moving on to Hugo Ekitike. A switch to the Saudi Pro League has also been mooted.

Al-Hilal are said to be readying a lucrative offer there, with Isak seemingly willing to take on a new challenge - potentially in the Middle East - as he supposedly informs Newcastle of his desire to move on after three years on Tyneside.

That news has not gone down well with Magpies supporters, with @TheToonisBack saying: “F*ck sake. This is a f*cking sh*t show. The whole window.” @ToonMouthTyne added: “This should have been sorted WEEKS ago, if not MONTHS ago!!! If we sell him, we've now got 39 days to replace him AND buy the remaining 4-5 players we already needed this summer! It's an absolute disgrace how this Club is being ran at present. It's a bloody circus.”

@ToonMouthTyne said: “Fans aren't stupid. We knew this was coming..... He's away. He's gone.” @Im_RobM went on to say: “If Isak wants away then that's all I needed to hear. Just get him sold quickly so we can all move on.” @nufcollie97 added in a call for action: “I think it’s time #NUFC, #AVFC and all other clubs in the PL start fighting for some change. PSR/FFP is not fit for purpose, it would be labelled anti-competition law in any other industry. This is corruption in plain sight at the highest level. We have to act.”

Newcastle have Isak tied to a contract, but there is little they can do to stop him from leaving if he really wants out. They will demand the highest possible fee for a proven performer at the highest level, with a nine-figure sum set to come their way.
