Since joining Arsenal in the winter of 2019, Arteta has helped end the Gunners' downward spiral and improved their fortunes drastically after leaving his post as assistant coach at Manchester City. The Spaniard has led the north London side in back-to-back Premier League title races against City. Senderos has now claimed that Arteta could return to the Cityzens in the future when he decides to part ways with Arsenal and may succeed Pep Guardiola.

    WHAT SENDEROS SAID

Speaking to CasinoHawks, Senderos said: "Mikel Arteta has been at Manchester City before so you never know, the career of players and coaches can often take you by surprise. But if he did leave Arsenal it wouldn’t be because he desperately wants to move on, it’ll just be about finding a new challenge and things like this happen in football."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

However, Senderos also claimed that if Arteta decides to commit the bulk of his career to Arsenal, he could emulate Arsene Wenger's lengthy stint with the Gunners.

He added: "Mikel Arteta could be at the club for as long as Arsene Wenger was, this is a club that wants stability and gives the manager a chance to build something. There is consistency in his decisions and actions and success will follow. It will be amazing to see when it does happen."
