The Telegraph reported that a UEFA vote on Monday approved the teams' plea to register a 26-man squad for the upcoming Euro 2024. The agenda was lobbied by several national coaches including England boss Gareth Southgate.

The news of the expansion of national squads comes as a lifeline for Manchester United star Marcus Rashford who was unlikely to make it to Southgate's final team had the squad size remained at 23. The attacker has failed to deliver for the Red Devils this season and had clocked only 15 minutes on the pitch in The Three Lions' recent international friendlies against Brazil and Belgium.
