EXCLUSIVE: Man City’s looming FFP hearing will have no impact on Pep Guardiola and his squad, claims Sergio Aguero as club legend hails 'same desire' despite 115 charges

City's hearing over the 115 charges for allegedly breaking the Premier League's financial rules is set to take place on Monday, September 16, more than 18 months after they were first announced.

The case comes at an important stage in the season for the Cityzens, who begin their Champions League campaign on Wednesday against Inter and then face Arsenal, their biggest title rivals of the last two seasons, on September 22. However, legendary striker Aguero does not fear that the hearing will negatively impact Guardiola's side, who have won three out of three Premier League games at the start of this season.

"I don't think it's had an impact. You can see it when we play. There's the same mettle, the same desire to win," Aguero, speaking on behalf of Stake.com, exclusively told GOAL.

Discussing City's charges at the start of the year, the Argentine insisted that the club had won all their titles "fair and square". He added: "I can say that our achievements as a team, on the field, were won with effort and sportsmanship."

La Liga president Javier Tebas, who has long been an outspoken critic of City's Abu Dhabi ownership, has claimed that a large number of Premier League clubs chiefs want the champions to be punished.

The hearing, which has been described as 'the trial of the century' is expected to last around 10 weeks, with a verdict being announced in early 2025. City return to Premier League action after the international break on Saturday when they face Brentford.
