Lionel Messi's wife Antonela Roccuzzo embraces unexpected lizard experience while going full 'soccer mom' for son Thiago's first game of new season for Inter Miami youth team

Messi’s oldest child is back in action within the academy ranks of the MLS franchise that his father represents. Thiago is looking to follow in the most illustrious of footsteps, with early promise being shown by the youngster in his fledgling football career.

His dad is not always on hand to catch his games, as he is otherwise engaged with club and country. The Argentine superstar is currently working his way back to fitness after picking up an ankle injury in the 2024 Copa America final.

Antonela is happy to play the role of “soccer mom” and was joined at Thiago’s latest game – his first of the new season for Inter Miami’s youth team – by a surprise guest. The tropical climate in Florida makes it the perfect home to various animals – including small lizards.

Messi senior is expected to return to the field on September 14, with the eight-time Ballon d’Or winner ready to rejoin Inter Miami’s ranks as the Herons – who have already booked a play-off spot – continue to chase down MLS Cup glory in 2024.
