Lionel Messi beams with pride as his sons Ciro & Thiago both lift the Dreams Cup with Inter Miami academy teams

The eight-time Ballon d’Or winner was among those in attendance as a prestigious youth tournament came to a close over Memorial Day weekend in South Florida. The event plays host to some of the brightest young talents in America and around the world.

Messi, who was joined on the sidelines by wife Antonela, had plenty to cheer as he watched the final stages of the 2025 Dreams Cup unfold. Trophy winning is clearly in his blood, with Ciro and Thiago getting their hands on the ultimate prize.

A broad smile spread across Messi’s face as he watched his sons, alongside their jubilant team-mates, hoist trophies aloft in the Florida sunshine. It is not the first time that they have enjoyed tangible success at academy level.

It remains to be seen whether Ciro and Thiago can follow in the most illustrious footsteps and one day become senior stars in their own right. Messi is due to be back in MLS action on Wednesday when Inter Miami will attempt to snap a four-game winless run against Montreal.
