Honeymoon, then Copa America! USMNT & Nottingham Forest star Matt Turner enjoys lavish Boston wedding ceremony with former NFL cheerleader partner Ashley Herron

The Nottingham Forest goalkeeper officially wed former NFL cheerleader Herron back in May 2022, but that was a private affair. The couple have now tied the knot again in front of friends and family at the State Room in Boston – the city in which they met and fell in love.

Professional soccer players Rob Holding, Brandon Bye, Andrew Farrell, DeJuan Jones and Henry Kessler were among those in attendance, with the bride and groom finding a window in Turner’s professional life – at the end of the 2023-24 Premier League season – in which to let collective hair down.

Turner has told PEOPLE of a special occasion: “I found the person who makes me better, holds me accountable, but also helps me to have fun and enjoy life even more. Being married is special because you are a team and you are giving yourself to that person intimately and totally. When you can have that much trust in someone, it’s an amazing feeling. We’ve obviously been through a lot of changes in the last few years, and it hasn’t always been smooth sailing, but we’ve never had expectations for our partners in our heads that we didn’t express to them out loud. That’s a huge strength of our relationship.”

Turner left Arsenal for Forest in the summer of 2023, and endured a difficult debut campaign at the City Ground as he lost his starting berth. He remains first choice for his country, as things stand, and will honeymoon in Nantucket before linking up with the United States for a Copa America on home soil – which gets underway on June 20.
