Harry Kane is ready for Oktoberfest! Bayern star dons his lederhosen and opens up on working with Vincent Kompany as German giants look to right the wrongs of last season

Ahead of another Oktoberfest - one that England captain Kane is looking forward to, particularly as his wife Katie Goodland will be there this time round - the 31-year-old spoke about new manager Kompany, how his team-mates are itching to win silverware again, and more.

On Oktoberfest, which runs from September 21-October 6 in Munich, Kane said: "Yeah, I did [enjoy it last time]. Last time my wife wasn't here, she couldn't come, but she's coming to this one. So it should be a good occasion for her as well. I really enjoy it. I think these types of team bonding experiences are really good and it gives me more chance to get used to the German culture."

On Kompany, the former Tottenham star stated: "The coach is really, really good. I am enjoying the time with him. He is bringing a really good energy to the team. I think we will improve as we go along but so far it has been really enjoyable."

Finally, the striker added on trying to end his title drought: "I hope so, I really hope so. I think there's a good hunger in the team, especially after last year. For a club like Bayern Munich not to win any trophies was a big disappointment for us. I sense a real hunger in training, in the games. Of course, we know it will be tough as there are some good teams in the Bundesliga but we have to back ourselves to go and win the title."

Bayern failed to win a single trophy last season, the first time they have not picked up anywhere silverware in a campaign since 2012. Kane and Kompany will be hoping they can wrestle back the Bundesliga title from Bayer Leverkusen this time out.

Since former Burnley manager Kompany took over at Bayern, he has overseen a win in the DFB-Pokal and a victory in the Bundesliga. Next up, the Bavarians take on Freiburg in the league at home on Sunday afternoon.
