The win meant that the German champions have kept hot on the tail of surprise leaders Bayer Leverkusen, who are currently on 42 points, one point ahead of the Bavarians. Leverkusen, coached by former Real Madrid and Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso have yet to lose a single game of the 16 games played so far.

When Lewandowski set the record for most goals in the first half of the season, he went on to break Gerd Muller's long-held record of most goals scored in a Bundesliga season of 40. Kane currently sits right on track to equal the Polish legend's record of 41 goals.
WHAT NEXT FOR KANE?
With his eyes fully set on going for the record for the most goals scored in the Bundesliga in a season, Kane will have to score at least 19 goals in the remaining 16 games to equal the record. The second half of the season will start for the Englishman when Bayern host Werder Bremen on January 21.
