He said in an interaction, “My dream is to play in Europe at least once in my career. Now I feel good in Brazil and I am focused on Flamengo and this splendid adventure that we are experiencing at the Club World Cup: we want to do well and move forward as much as possible. Brazilian teams are proving that they are up to par with European football."
He added: "[Flamengo team-mates] Jorginho, Danilo and Alex Sandro spoke to me a lot about Italy and told me that moving to Serie A would be a great experience for me and a very important step in my growth... I know about the interest of Roma and Juventus, but it’s not time to think ahead yet.”
