Should Fenerbahce reach the quarter-finals, Mourinho could face the first of three former clubs on the way to winning the trophy. If Mourinho's men come through that one, a tie with Manchester United - who he managed between 2016-18 - could await. United play Real Sociedad in the last-16 and would have FCSB or Lyon next. Should Fenerbahce go all the way, a final against Tottenham could be their prize. That would mean Mourinho would face his third consecutive former side.

Mourinho has previously won the Europa League as a manager, leading Man Utd to the trophy in the 2016-17 campaign when they beat Ajax 2-0 in the final. He also won the Conference League with Roma in 2022 and is the only manager to get his hands on all three major European club trophies.
