Having previously enjoyed considerable success together at Barcelona, the South American duo have been reunited in Florida. Messi arrived in the United States during the summer of 2023, before being joined by Uruguayan striker Suarez ahead of the 2024 campaign.
Three of Messi’s assists against the New York Red Bulls were for Suarez, with Negri saying of what it is like to work with two players that are always on the same wavelength: “It’s crazy how they understand each other. It’s a pleasure watching them play and to see them motivated, for us, it’s very important. Having these kinds of players as they are and trusting them here will lead to big things”
