Barcelona ready to cash in on Ronald Araujo as Man Utd target deemed sellable after costly red card in Champions League collapse against PSG

Araujo has been a rock-solid centre-back for the Blaugrana through their tough periods, however, the Catalan club could be ready to cash in on the Uruguayan, SPORT reports, with the club looking to get back into compliance with La Liga's financial requirements. It is believed that Araujo has a large market value and selling him could be hugely beneficial for the club's finances going into next season.

Araujo was on Barcelona's 'non-saleable' list, however, the sudden rise of 17-year-old Pau Cubarsi could spell the end for his stint at the club. This has also been further complicated by his reckless red card against Paris Saint-Germain, which has left a sort of bitterness in the mouths of the Barcelona hierarchy, the report says.

Araujo has a lot of admirers in world football including the likes of United, Bayern Munich and even Atletico Madrid. Joan Laporta and company may now start discussions with the clubs that they had earlier pushed away. It is believed that the 25-year-old could fetch the Catalan side close to €100 million (£86m/$107m) if he is sold this summer.

While it is still highly doubtable that Barcelona would separate with a fan-favorite this easily, further complications with the financial situation could spell the end of Araujo's tenure at Barcelona.
