Padel has quickly become a phenomenon across Europe, with former football stars helping to drive its popularity. Ibrahimovic has already played a key role in Sweden’s padel boom, and Robben now hopes to spark the same movement in the Netherlands.
His venture into the sport comes after a glittering football career that saw him rise to legend status at Bayern. After leaving Real Madrid in 2009, he made 309 appearances for the Bavarians, scoring 144 goals and providing 100 assists. His honours included eight Bundesliga titles, five domestic cups and, most memorably, the 2013 Champions League crown. Robben later returned to boyhood club FC Groningen, where he eventually closed the chapter on an illustrious football journey.
