'Win, win, win!' - Alisha Lehmann sends out message after scoring again to fire Aston Villa to victory over Brighton

The Switzerland international rippled the back of the net in the 64th minute as the Villans secured seventh spot in the Women's Super League with a game to spare. Carla Ward's side sit four points ahead of Everton, although they cannot bridge the gap to Tottenham in sixth as the north London outfit are four points clear of them with a game in hand.

Lehmann's strike at Brighton was just her second in league action this season after opening her account in last weekend's 1-1 draw with West Ham. It's been an indifferent campaign for the 25-year-old forward, so she decided to make the most of a positive day on the south coast with an Instagram post. She wrote to her 16.7 million followers: "Win win win, happy to score again. Thanks to all the fans for the support and travelling."

Villa boss Ward will step down from her role at the end of this season, despite having a year left on her contract. She signed a new deal last May but will depart after the club's final match of the season against current league leaders Manchester City on May 18.

Lehmann and her team-mates will be desperate to give Ward the send off she deserves after guiding Villa to a fifth-place finish last term - their highest in the WSL. While City are a formidable opponent for any side, Gareth Taylor's team may have already wrapped up the title ahead of the final weekend, which could present the Villans with an opportunity for victory. The reverse fixture saw the Citizens claim a 2-1 comeback win thanks to a brace from England star Lauren Hemp.
