22:53 - ALLARDYCE UNHAPPY AT LOOKMAN DEPARTURE

Well, well, well. Everton boss Sam Allardyce does not sound happy at all!

His side beat Leicester City 2-1 tonight but the 63-year-old has appeared to criticise Ademola Lookman's decision to join Champions League-chasing RB Leipzig on loan. No, we're not joking!

“It's one of the most unusual situations I've been in. It was his choice. He was adamant he wanted Germany. We tried to persuade him not to. But his stubbornness got him his way.”

Rumours claiming he has been sent there with the sole intention to injure Liverpool-bound Naby Keita in training are unconfirmed...

What next for Riyad Mahrez?! Sam Lee can now confirm he will NOT be joining Manchester City...

City were prepared to pay up to £65 million for Mahrez, but the Foxes were holding out for as much as £95m. Despite hours of talks throughout Tuesday and Wednesday the two clubs have been unable to find common ground, and City sources stress that they have ended their interest.

15:39 - LLORENTE TO STAY AT TOTTENHAM

Some more news concerning Chelsea, here, from our Blues correspondent Nizaar Kinsella!

Chelsea were in talks with Tottenham over a move for Fernando Llorente but the clubs fail to come to an agreement. Spurs had asked for Michy Batshuayi on loan as a replacement for Llorente but the Belgian was unwilling to go on loan as a back up for Harry Kane. 15:05 - 🔵 MORE MAN CITY NEWS 🔵

Some more exclusive news, here, from our man Sam Lee .

Regarding City's interest in Fred...

Goal understands Shakhtar Donetsk have been making a concerted effort to sign a replacement today.

Interestingly, it is only the first day of the Ukrainian transfer market, and they have another month to do business, so their frantic efforts on the very first day suggest a breakthrough could still be possible in the coming hours. However, they have so far not had any joy in their search, and their stance throughout January has been that Fred will not be allowed to leave this month.

If City cannot do a deal today, which looks increasingly likely, they may want to act fast to tie something up before the summer, as it is believed Manchester United are still on the scene, even if City are heavy favourites.

Either way, City will keep trying up until the 11pm deadline, because they are desperate to bring their summer business forward and also want a stocked squad for a final assault on all four competitions.

15:00 - RIYAD MAHREZ UPDATE!

Our Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee has the latest on City's potential signing of Riyad Mahrez!

Mahrez is pleading with Leicester City to let him leave, and a move to the Etihad will only be possible if the Foxes cede to his request and reduce their asking price. It is believed City are not willing to go any higher than £65m, which would be a club record.

It's worth noting, it wasn't until 2pm on deadline day in the summer that the Alexis Sanchez situation exploded into life, with City and Arsenal agreeing a £60m deal that would eventually fall through, proving that everything is possible, at any hour of the day.

Stay strapped in, City fans!

14:53 - CRYSTAL PALACE BID £16M FOR AMADOU

Roy Hodgson has been gathering change from the back of his sofa again...

Crystal Palace have made a £16m offer for Lille star Ibrahim Amadou, while West Ham have also made an offer, say Sky Sports.

10:28 - 📣 MAHREZ MUST FORCE CITY MOVE 📣

Our Manchester City correspondent Sam Lee with the very latest on Riyad Mahrez 's potential move to the Etihad Stadium 👇

"Manchester City sources still believe they have only a small chance of signing Riyad Mahrez today, and they need the Algerian to force the issue.

"Of course, he has already handed in a transfer request, but given he has done that in the past and not been allowed to leave, he may have to go even further.

"It is also believed City are determined not to go above £65m for Mahrez, so if Leicester are not cowed by the winger's demands, the Premier League leaders could come away empty-handed."

What do you make of that City fans? Give Sam (Sammy_Goal) a shout on Twitter
