According to Mundo Deportivo, the timing of the committee meeting to deliberate on Vinicius’ punishment is the key factor which would decide his participation in the Copa del Rey clash against Deportiva Minera on Monday. It has been reported that the body might convene on Tuesday allowing the player to remain eligible for Monday’s match. Until the disciplinary body rules on the incident, Vinícius remains free to play.
Clubs are granted until 2:00 p.m. on the second business day following the match to submit their appeals. Since the match occurred on Friday and the following Monday marks the Epiphany holiday, Real Madrid have more time to state their case.
