USMNT's Chris Richards sees red in Crystal Palace clash vs. Bournemouth after pair of first-half yellow cards

U.S. international Chris Richard was sent off during Crystal Palace's Premier League match against Bournemouth on Saturday. The central defender - facing fellow USMNT star Tyler Adams - saw yellow twice during the first half, prompting his removal just seconds before the halftime whistle.

Yellows in the 29th and 45+1 minutes of the match led to his dismissal, handing the Eagles a man disadvantage for the entire second half.

It's been a rough three-match span for Richards and Palace, who conceded five goals in each of their last two games, losses to Manchester City and Newcastle United. The American defender did, however, manage to score against City last weekend, heading home for his first of the season.

This was Richard's first red card for Crystal Palace.

Richards and Palace went on a seven-match unbeaten streak prior to their loss to City last weekend, across all competitions. The American helped keep three clean sheets during that span.

Palace take on Arsenal in midweek EPL action, where Richards will be suspended. They return to the pitch next Saturday in an FA Cup Semifinal match against Aston Villa.
