The New York Red Bulls are reportedly engaged in talks with former UEFA Champions League winner with Chelsea, Timo Werner, over a summer transfer from Bundesliga side RB Leipzig, according to The Athletic.
The Germany international, 29, has represented his country 57 times and spent the last 18 months on loan at English Premier League side Tottenham Hotspur.
No agreement has been made yet, but the two clubs are optimistic that a deal can be reached this summer.
The secondary MLS transfer window runs from Thursday, July 24, through Thursday, August 21.
