    According to The Guardian, should Ipswich be relegated from the Premier League this season, Delap's release clause will drop from a reported £40 million ($51m) to £30m ($38m). This news will have put suitors like Chelsea and Manchester United on high alert as both look to sign the 22-year-old forward in the upcoming transfer window.

    The report adds that the Tractor Boys must pay Manchester City a significant amount of any transfer fee they receive for Delap this summer as his former club hold a 20 percent sell-on clause.
