Green light for Milos Kerkez? Why Bournemouth star's Liverpool transfer may now accelerate as Reds step up talks

Bournemouth, per Foot Mercato, have reached an agreement on personal terms with Truffert, the Rennes left-back, who has been targeted to replace Kerkez. The Reds are reported to be working on concluding a deal for the Cherries star, who is rated at £45 million ($61m), while the report claims Bournemouth, Rennes and Truffert are confident of reaching an agreement to see him move to the south coast in Kerkez's stead.

Bournemouth saw an initial €12m (£10m/$14m) bid for Truffert rejected but a compromise is expected to be reached. He could cost as much as €20m (£17m/$23m). Securing his signature will be an important domino to fall, as Liverpool look to spirit Kerkez away. He is viewed as a potential long-term replacement to Andrew Robertson, per The Times.

Truffert is in the final year of his contract at Rennes and the club are not said to be against a sale, though they are keen to negotiate an acceptable fee. Liverpool are locked in talks with Bournemouth, with negotiations being led by sporting director Richard Hughes, who previously worked with Bournemouth and played a role in signing Kerkez.

Both Bournemouth and Liverpool will aim to conclude their respective negotiations, with Kerkez set to move to Anfield and Truffert to arrive at the Vitality Stadium.
